Week 9-10
Hello everyone!
Sorry about not writing earlier this week. We have been soooooo busy! I've been going from 6:30 in the morning until about 9:00 in the evening every day! we have spent part of our day painting and part going out and visiting with inactives. We delivered 50 Easter treats to 50 different families active and inactive. We got doors shut in our faces and totally rejected by others. ( I feel like a real missionary now!) We also met some wonderful people!
One afternoon when we were out delivering our Easter treats (consisting of scriptures for each of the last 8 days of the life of Christ before he was crucified and some candy) we met three ladies. Each of these ladies were in a crisis situation. One was getting a divorce, the other two had health concerns. Each lady we visited seemed to just want to talk and get their problem out. We lent a listening ear and of course some encouragement to come back to church. It was quite a miracle in our minds that we could have met three ladies in the same afternoon, all of whom needed a listening ear and we had the time that day to listen to them. I think both the sisters we visited and ourselves were blessed that day.
The house we live in was built in 1890. It has had some recent renovations on the inside. That's what we have been painting. We have finished painting the upstairs rooms and also the kitchen/hallway on the main floor. We have the basement stairs etc. and the rest of the main floor to paint. This is a great way to give service and to improve the house we are living in. This house has been consecrated and dedicated for missionaries. We feel privileged to be able to live in this house.
I found out that Martha, an older lady in my last area, is getting baptized! I am so excited for her. She is such a sweet person. I was in her home several times talking with her and doing some things that she had asked us to do. She was so appreciative of all we did. She was also in our crochet group and is a fantastic crocheter (is that a word?) anyway she crochets beautifully! I am so happy for her baptism!
That's about all I have for this last week.
Love,
Sister Tuha
