My companions and me and our tree.   Hello Everyone! Merry Christmas! I can't believe it's Christmas already! Today is Christmas Eve and I'm thinking back about 2000 years to when Christ was born.... We went the assisted living center this morning. We visit two ladies each week. This week we planned on singing Christmas Carols and showing them a video of the birth of our Savior. That is exactly what we did! The ladies we were visiting were singing right along with us. Their mental capacities may be waning, but their spirits are in sync with the times. We showed the video from the Gospel Library. Here is the link.  https://www. churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ video/christmas-messages/2019- 09-0050-the-christ-child-a- nativity-story-lighttheworld? lang=eng As we started to show these two ladies the video ( we have shown them several church videos before) the sister of one of the ladies walked in and joined us in watching this video. When the video was over she said, "Wher...

My Texas family! Two sons, two daughters, spouses and children! Hello Everyone! As usual this last month has just whizzed by! We have had 2 baptisms this past week! It is so wonderful to have new members join our little branch!  Thanksgiving week was really great! I got permission to go to Texas and spend the week with my four children and their families. It was sooooo good to see them. I drove 3 hours to Wichita, Kansas and picked up my oldest daughter at the airport so she could drive with me the rest of the way. 5 1/2 hours. It was so nice to have her along on the drive to Texas. It was so nice to be able to spend a day or so with each of my children and their families! For Thanksgiving we had so much food. Each person made something and several people made more than one dish. It was all so good! We all went to see Moana 2 which was pretty good. I participated in "White Friday" while in Texas. In case you don't know what White Friday is, it's spending time in th...

This is at the KC Temple. Our RS temple trip . Hello Everyone! As usual we have been busy! This week when we did our planning we only had a few days to plan for. Our DCM is on Friday this week and our Zone Conference is on Wednesday, we go to Topeka to help categorize some nativities that will be on display in December. So three days in a row we are going to Topeka! This last week we were able to go to the temple twice! We had planned on going last Thursday and then the Relief Society moved their temple trip to the 9th. So went two times this last week. There were nine of us that went. Our member Aletha was so excited! she hadn't been to the temple in 6 years! When she got to the celestial room she was in tears. She was so happy she had made it back to the temple. Last Monday we had a dinner roll making class here. We have had several branch members over for dinner and I have made rolls to go with the dinner. Several people have wanted my recipe. So my companions suggested t...

Me and my companions Sis. Sharp and Sis. Ward. Can you tell the wind is blowing? The Missouri River in the background. Hello Everyone! The weather is crazy here! I guess that it probably is everywhere at this time of year. We have a week of cold weather, lows in the 30"s to Highs in the 50's, with a couple of days in the 80's thrown in. I guess since Kansas is in the middle of the US we get weather from all the other states all at once. Last week there was a freeze warning so we went out to our garden and pulled out all the carrots, picked all the tomatoes, green ones too, and all the peppers, even if they were rather small. Come to find out it didn't freeze after all! We still have tomatoes growing and peppers waiting to come. Us three senior sisters were asked to train at DCM last week. We were asked to train on the Christ like attribute of love. We showed the video "I Feel My Savior's Love". Here's the link.  https://www. churchofjesuschrist.org/...

Week 39

Hello Everyone! I think I always start my letters out by saying how fast time is flying by! It's been no different the last couple of  weeks . Would you believe my mission is half over? The time has gone so fast. It says in D & C 88:73 Behold, I will hasten my work in its time. It must be time because time is going so fast. We, as usual, have been pretty busy. If you remember in my last letter I told you about a lady in our branch that was going to give her first talk. She gave it last Sunday and she gave a great talk. We did help her some, but she is the one who put it together. We had two stake visitors, both of them commented on this sister's talk. She was so proud of herself, and we were proud of her too. She is one of the ladies that we read out of the Book of Mormon every night. It's amazing how much reading the book of Mormon can help us in our everyday lives. You can find your answer to everything by reading the book of Mormon. I had a firm testimony of this b...
