Hello Everyone!

How is everything going for you? My companion, Sister Sharp and I are keeping ourselves quite busy. It seems we always have people to visit and places to go. Speaking of going, we were able to take the younger sisters with us to the Winter Quarters Temple in Omaha, Nebraska this last week. It's about a two hour drive from our house. It is a smaller temple but just as beautiful as all the rest. It's always so wonderful to get to go to the temple.
We've been told to look for miracles and we've had a few. We went to Falls City, Nebraska this last week to an inactive sister's house. Her birthday was coming up, so we wanted to give her a card, wish her a happy birthday and ask some questions for our RS spotlight. We went to the address that was on Tools. The man that came to the door said she didn't live there, but told us where to find her. It was an apartment across the parking lot from where we were. We knocked on the door and asked the guy that answered if Zara lived there. He said no and said he didn't know of a person named Zara. We were just leaving when a pickup drove in and parked.  There were two ladies inside. We asked the driver if she knew Zara, she pointed to the other lady in the pickup. We were quite surprised and thankful we had found her! We talked to her for a few minutes and gave her the birthday card. We asked if she would answer a few questions about herself for our RS spotlight. She agreed! She was quite friendly. So we asked the questions, noted her answers and said goodby. As we were walking away, we saw her walk into the very apartment that we were at where the guy told us he didn't know her! He had lied to us, but we were able to contact her anyway. The Lord is in the details of our lives. This was a miracle!

We have been assigned to do apartment checks. We do the cleaning inspection for all the missionaries in our district plus the Elders in Lawrence, Kansas. That is a total of eleven apartments we have to inspect each transfer (every 6 weeks). Since it is not the favorite thing for the Elders or Sisters whose apartments we check, we tried to make it a little fun for them.  We showed up with badges that my companion made that has "Clean Police" written on it.  As we went into the apartments we gave them each a small bag of popcorn to thank them for letting us "pop" in. Most of them liked our humor! We have a list of things that we are supposed to check in each apartment. Then we send the check sheet to the Mission Headquarters in Wichita. Most of the Elders and Sisters have clean apartments since they had been advised that we were coming. We were looking for "Celestial Clean" apartments.  They will get an award from the Mission Headquarters given out at our next Zone Conference. Just an incentive for them to have clean apartments.

We went to Perry Kansas to pick up some Emotional Reliance books from the stake Self Reliance person. Perry is about a half hour the other side of Topeka. She lived way out in the country. It was a beautiful drive. She lived in a beautiful house on 40 acres. She gave us some fresh eggs before we left. We are beginning our Emotional Resilience class tomorrow.

I will try to include some pictures of this part of Kansas.
Love,
Sister Tuha
