Week 35
Hello Everyone!
I hope this email finds you well and happy! We have been super busy these past couple of weeks. We were getting ready for our "Invite the One'" Sunday. We have, for the past 21 days, have been praying for several members of our branch. We have also done service for these less active members. Our service has ranged from baking bread, cookies, cake, to tying quilts, bringing flowers and meals. We counted up 86 different services that we have done. With each service we have given them a note that expresses ours and our Heavenly Fathers love for them and a desire to have them come to church again with a special invitation to come to church for our "Invite the One" Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised on Sunday that several of the people we had been praying for were at church on Sunday! We would have loved to have more, but were happy with the turn out. We know that many others were blessed by our prayers, and that we may never know the effect our prayers had on them.
Our Branch President came over the other night. He said that he hasn't, since he had been president, had so many people come to him in such a short amount of time to get their lives in order so that they could go to the temple. He said that it was because of our efforts that they had been prompted to come to him. We were pleasantly surprised that he had given us the credit for helping these people to want to go to the temple. Several of the people he mentioned were people that we have been reading the Book of Mormon with each evening. We are quite sure that reading the B of M each night had definitely had a positive effect on these members. We were thrilled to know of their willingness to want to go to the temple. So many blessings await them there.
We are in transfer week this week. We were trying to make our calendar for this week, but we don't know for sure what day Zone Conference is and if it will affect the day we usually have for DCM. So this week's planning is still kind of up in the air. We have planned to have several of the older single women of our branch come over tonight to watch President Nelson's Birthday Celebration with us. We will also have dinner for them afterwards. We are excited to be able to watch this program with these members.
It was my birthday about a week ago, so my companions had decided that for my birthday we would go to the Missouri Star Quilting store in Hamilton, Missouri. We were finally able to go this last week. If you know me, you know that quilting is one of my hobbies. Going to Hamilton was like Disneyland for quilters! There were 19 stores with fabric. It was really overwhelming but we enjoyed every minute of it. Sister Ward, one of my companions, also is a quilter so she really enjoyed shopping there too. Sister Sharp, another companion, doesn't quilt but she said she enjoyed the ambiance and watching us look at the different fabrics. While at one of the fabric stores, we were told that Adam-ondi-Ahman was about 15 minutes away and that we should really go see it before going back to Kansas. So we did! It was more amazing than all of the quilt shops combined! The spirit was so strong there and it was sooooo beautiful! I will include pictures, but they don't really compare to being there in person.
It is always amazing to me to see how the Lord is working with us in our lives. We still continue to write our "5 things" of how the Lord has intervened in our lives. We are constantly being blessed for our efforts.
Love and miss you all!
Sister Tuha
