Hello Everyone!
Merry Christmas! I can't believe it's Christmas already! Today is Christmas Eve and I'm thinking back about 2000 years to when Christ was born.... We went the assisted living center this morning. We visit two ladies each week. This week we planned on singing Christmas Carols and showing them a video of the birth of our Savior. That is exactly what we did! The ladies we were visiting were singing right along with us. Their mental capacities may be waning, but their spirits are in sync with the times. We showed the video from the Gospel Library. Here is the link.
As we started to show these two ladies the video ( we have shown them several church videos before) the sister of one of the ladies walked in and joined us in watching this video. When the video was over she said, "Where did you get that wonderful video?" We told her it was in the Gospel library for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was so amazed at the video. The video really brought the spirit with it. The other video we showed was the 2024 version of "Light the World". Here's the link for this one....
The spirit was so strong in that room this morning. Hopefully the sister of the lady in the room will remember this and look it up for herself.
Last week we had our "Christmas in Kansas". We had a wonderful program! Some of our most talented missionaries performed musical numbers consisting of harps, piano, singing, guitar etc. with narration in between. It was a great program. After lunch we played games. Most of these games came from "Minute to Win it" type games. Everyone had fun. At the end we were each given an envelope of letters, emails, and notes that had been sent in. I got letters from my family which I really appreciated. What really surprised me was the amount of letters from my wonderful Lone Pine Ward! Thanks so much to each of you who wrote notes to me! They were really a pleasant surprise! Also I'd like to thank the primary children who colored beautiful pictures and also sent notes. It was such a wonderful surprise! Thank you so much!!!!
A week ago we made 11 orange cranberry breads, 11 bread bears, and 11 pans of cinnamon rolls totaling 33 Christmas treats. It took us several days to get them all delivered. As we were delivering these treats to members and non members, we discovered four older ladies that were going to have to spend Christmas Day by themselves. So, we invited them to Christmas dinner at our house. We had already invited the young missionary sisters so we now have seven people coming for Christmas dinner! We are sooo excited to have them join us for Christmas dinner tomorrow. I'm sure we will all have a great time!
I hope all of you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS tomorrow! Here are some pictures!
Love,
Sister Tuha
